Platform

Everything in MergeMarine, workspace by workspace.

One sign-in covers the live map, dispatch, maintenance and compliance, crew records, and reporting. Each person sees the parts their role allows.

Home screen

Each person starts on the screen their role needs.

Today's work
Open jobs for the day and overdue maintenance, each as a list you can act on.
Fleet status
Every vessel marked live, stale, or without an AIS signal, with its current speed.
24-hour port forecast
Temperature, chance of rain, seas, wave period, and wind, with night hours shaded.
Always current
The home screen refreshes every 30 seconds, and each tile appears only for roles allowed to see it.

Live map

Every vessel in your ports, on a real nautical chart.

AIS positions are pushed to the map as they arrive, and the zones you care about are watched even when nobody has the map open.

Live vessel positions
Vessels colored by type, with course lines and trails. Filter to your own fleet or to outside traffic.
Zone alerts
Enter and exit alerts for the zones you draw, detected on the server around the clock. Each alert records the weather at that moment.
Chart and weather layers
NOAA nautical charts, OpenSeaMap aids to navigation, ocean and satellite base maps, NEXRAD radar, wind and waves, tide stations, and NDBC buoys.
Replay and tracking
Replay vessel movements over the past 6 to 36 hours, view a 24-hour traffic heatmap, and export a sortable tracking table to Excel.
Routes
Draw and save the routes your tugs run, right on the chart.
Harbor assistant
Ask a question about the harbor and get an answer based on the vessels on screen and the hourly weather.

Dispatch

Jobs planned against live positions and saved to your ERP.

Dispatch reads from and writes to your ERP, so the job your dispatcher builds is the job your billing team invoices.

Inbound and outbound boards
Each job carries its locations, assigned tugs, agent, owner or charterer, pilot, tonnage, and notes, and saves directly to your ERP.
Ship position on every job
Each job shows the ship's live speed, how old the reading is, and its distance from port.
Double-booking warnings
MergeMarine warns you when a tug is already committed, and a per-tug timeline shows the whole day.
Logs for billing
Record docking, shifting, undocking, hourly, and dead-shift work against each job.
Reconciliation
See jobs that were worked but never logged, and logs not yet invoiced, before month-end.
Dispatch dashboard
Jobs per month, status, job-type mix, tonnage, fuel cost, turnaround, and tug-by-tug comparisons.
Vessel records
Import MMSI numbers in bulk from Excel and jump from any vessel to its position on the map.
Audit trail
Every record MergeMarine writes to your ERP is logged with who made the change.

Maintenance and Subchapter M

Planned maintenance and compliance records, ready for inspection.

Built around 46 CFR Subchapter M, from daily readings to the Towing Vessel Record.

Fleet risk at a glance
Red and amber status for every vessel, with predictive alerts, running-hours drift, and cost anomalies.
Planning and work orders
Schedules, task lists, work orders with checklists, asset templates, meter readings, and measurements with limits.
Compliance records
Compliance items, TSMS certificates, inspections, the survey and drydock calendar, and the Towing Vessel Record.
Non-conformities
Track each non-conformity and its corrective action, with a prompt to notify the OCMI within 24 hours.
Drills and documents
Drill records and controlled documents with versions and read acknowledgements. Each vessel’s crew list links to the mariner’s record in Crew.
Inspector-ready exports
Export the Towing Vessel Record as a workbook, a .zip with its evidence attached, or a multi-sheet inspector dossier.
Offline capture
Crews log readings, drills, record entries, and finished work orders without signal. It syncs when they reconnect.
Cost and reliability
Cost of ownership, top cost drivers, invoices without a matching work order, failure and downtime trends, and weekly fuel by tug.
Maintenance assistant
Point it at an equipment manual and it drafts maintenance schedules. Every change it proposes waits for approval.
Daily digest
An email each day listing compliance, maintenance, credential, and drill items that are due or overdue.

Crew

Every mariner’s credentials, sea time, and rest hours in one record.

Built around 46 CFR Parts 10 and 15 and the Coast Guard’s sea-service form, CG-719S. The record is the mariner’s own. The office sees where each person stands.

Credential wallet
One row per document: the MMC and its endorsements, the medical certificate, TWIC, and STCW certificates, each with its own expiry date and scans attached.
Renewal windows
A credential turns amber 180 days before it expires. An expired MMC shows its one-year grace period, and one timeline lists every date coming up, drug-test window included.
Daily log
One entry per day at sea, with the vessel, waters, hours underway, and capacity served. Entries save without signal and sync later.
Signed means locked
Signing closes the day. Any later change needs a reason and is kept as a visible amendment, never a silent edit.
Sea service PDF
Prints the log in the shape of CG-719S, with a line per vessel, day totals, and signature lines. It prepares the paperwork. The mariner and the master still sign it.
Rest hours checked as entered
Each day is checked against 46 CFR 15.1111: 10 hours of rest in the day, 77 in seven days, no more than two periods, and never more than 14 hours between them.
Two signatures
The mariner signs a rest record and an officer co-signs. The two must be different people, and an officer can send a record back with a note.
Watch schedules
Post who stands which watch on each vessel, with a one-step 6-on, 6-off fill. Rest logged during a posted watch is flagged for a look.
Progression
Sea time added up by capacity, waters, tonnage, and vessel type. Shows progress toward the 360 days in five years for renewal, and toward the upgrade requirements your office keeps.
Crew compliance
Every mariner under each vessel, in red, amber, or grey: expired or expiring credentials, rest violations, signatures waiting, and logs going stale.
The mariner’s own sign-in
A mariner signs in and sees only their own record. The office sees days served on your fleet’s vessels, and document numbers stay with the mariner and the staff who manage crew records.
Audit trail and access log
Every change to a crew record and every read of one is logged, and neither log can be edited. A mariner can take their full record with them as a PDF or JSON file.

Reports and analytics

Standard reports, plus answers to the questions reports don't cover.

Ready-made reports
Revenue by customer down to invoice lines, jobs and revenue by month, and tug-by-tug assists, hours, tonnage, and revenue.
Summaries you can trust
MergeMarine calculates the figures first. AI only writes the summary around them.
Excel and PDF export
Export any report. Each report has its own permission, so sensitive figures stay with the right people.
Ask in plain English
Question vessel traffic, ports and routes, maintenance, or jobs and billing. Start from a preset, refine the wording, and chart the result.
See the query
Every answer shows the SQL behind it, which you can edit and rerun.
Guardrails
Questions run through a read-only database connection, limited to the data each role may see. Financial data needs its own permission.

Administration

Control who sees what, and keep a record of what changed.

Invite-only accounts
Invite users by email, deactivate them, or reset their two-factor sign-in.
Roles
Set permissions, the home screen for each role, and which data AI features may use.
Two-factor sign-in
Authenticator-app sign-in with QR setup and backup codes, required for administrators.
Activity and errors
An audit trail of admin activity alongside the system error log.
Data services
Turn AIS collection on or off, keep up to 365 days of history, and check your ERP’s sync status.
Ports
Add and edit the ports you work, with AI help filling in the details.
Made for tablets
Touch-friendly layouts for the tablets crews carry, plus in-app help and a first-run tour.
Themes
Nine color themes, including dark mode for night watches.

Integrations
